BLUES

So, it's been a while since i posted on here, as I've had SO much work to catch up on! I thought I'd take a chance to look at some of the new trends for January/February 2016!

If you've noticed, up and down the high streets you'd have seen A LOT of denim in shops like Newlook, River Island, Topshop and H&M. Starting with pinafores, I love them as much as anyone else, they're so versatile, and also available in a variety of colours from acid wash, dark denim and even black denim!

Looking at these two very different but equally stylish pinafores, both paired with high neck, long sleeve, striped t-shirts, they look incredible. The light denim is a beautiful ensemble, pairing this with a pair of white converse or white slip on pumps, would look amazing in spring! Whereas the black pinafore, matched with a black and white striped t-shirt and black chelsea boots, this dark outfit would look amazing on anyone and if you're brave enough to go without tights, well this would look amazing right now in winter! As I said, both styles are so versatile!

Next we have denim skirts. Now I have seen these being worn for a long, long time, I used to wear my own denim skirt when I was 6/7 years old! And to see them come back into fashion is so nostalgic! In particular, I've seen button up denim skirts become very popular, and you can also find them in various lengths, from mini to A-line to Midi, they all look very nice. I love seeing denim skirts paired with a baggy t-shirt worn loosely tucked in, with a pair of chelsea boots or doc martens, they all look incredible which ever way they are worn!

I think we'll all be seeing a lot more denim over the next few weeks!!

Birthday Makeup!

So on Tuesday 12th January it was my long awaited 18th birthday! I'm FINALLY an adult and am able to do so much! I was asked to recreate a specific dark red/plum look in which I hadn't used liquid eyeliner as I usually do, but for the purpose of this tutorial and the fact I had used different lashes, I decided to use liquid eyeliner!...

So to start I have used my NARS radiant creamy concealer in Chantilly as a base. I then added my transition shade which is 'Raw' from my makeup revolution Flawless palette! To continue the look I added a matte blush pink colour from my Audacious palette from Freedom! I love the way these colours work together!

After this I went in with Universal from the same Flawless palette! This colour is a gorgeous metallic rose gold tone, it really helps to brighten blue/grey/green eyes! Also, it added a lot of depth ready for my next two colours! Again from the same palette, I used red night on my outer corner and into the crease, a lovely red that really increases the look of blue pigment in your eyes, I also added this to the underneath of my eye! I then chose to use Medal on my lid, a beautiful copper, gold, creamy pigment, I used this as a base as I then added a glitter based orange shadow to make sure my eyes don't crease, as cream based eyeshadows have a tendency to crease or smudge throughout the day if you do not set them!

To really deepen my crease and outer eye, I added a stunning deep, glittery purple colour, I only needed a small touch of this as I didn't want to take away from the red shadow. I love this purple colour paired with reds as I feel they balance each other out to create these perfect hues of colour, that can really change any look!

To complete, I applied my Rimmel London Glam Eyes liquid eyeliner in a very strong, pointed cat eye shape. for my eyes in particular, extended wings make my eyes look slimmer which gives me a gorgeous cat-eye look! I also applied a few coats of mascara and my Eyelure 140 eyelashes, as these extend outwards towards the end they again give my eyes a really nice shape! I paired this look with a nude, matte lipgloss from MUA called 'tranquility'.

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2016 Collection

So recently the new Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2016 Collection has been shown to fashion lovers all over the globe, and I must say it's possibly one of my favourite collections yet!

To show off the fabulous new designs, they've taken inspiration to create anime looking characters, they remind me a lot of the game Final Fantasy! The styling of minimal makeup and coloured hair goes amazingly with the collection, as it's glamorous yet edgy, the makeup and style doesn't steal from the main star of the show!

The mixes of vibrancy and bold dark leather is quite eye catching as the gold and red embellishments add some subtle colour to the monotone outfits as well as the large amount of silver studs which make the outfits all the more raw. Not to mention the added snake print to certain handbags, I love this look particularly as it can be worn by many different woman who are eager to mix up styles, colours and tones.

The addition of the head pieces or 'Heroic Tiara' as it's being called, is very precious in my eyes, it adds elegance with is smooth shape but also a hardness with the metal colour, this could be worn with a number of the outfits shown in the collection.

The rest of the collection is basically a varied rendition of the two outfits shown above, and obviously they have the iconic pink haired female walking her way down the catwalk in the bright, baby pink Bicolour Calfskin Jacket which I think she pulls off very well, as do all the other models!

Why Everyone Should Own A Pair Of Dr Martens.

Dr Martens have always been a staple fashion piece for many people for many years, and the trend is still going strong in 2016. To keep the trend well on its way and my opinion on the new over-ride of Dr Martens, here is why I think everyone should own at least one pair of Dr Martens...

No matter which way you style them, the classic 1460 Boot will always look amazing.
Whether you match them with a pair of mom jeans, or a denim button up skirt, the 1460 boot will never fail to complete any outfit. Also available in different colours, textures and even patterns from specific collections like the Made In England line or the new Splash Mono collection, Dr Martens have a style for everyone. and lest we forget their classic shoe style of docs, they have a keen audience from men I've noticed, paired with a long blazer type jacket and skinny jeans, maybe even possibly turned up at the ends, men have evolved a style of their own for Docs.

Pairing Docs with other top style trends, for example Fjallraven Kanken backpacks, seems to be a very popular look since March/April 2015, I think these two items go hand in hand as they are both very versatile and can be worn with a number of different looks.

No matter which colour or style you pick, black will always rule the roost. It's always been a favourite from the 80's to present day 2016 and can you blame them? Black docs can be styled as seen here with yellow laces, cleverly matching the famous yellow thread to line the thick soled shoes.

Looking at a more grunge type of style, you can see Dr Martens will go perfectly with an acid wash denim jacket and black denim skinny jeans, it's a match made in heaven! I myself love to pair my docs with a pair of black leggings and thick cable knit jumper, or to have a more 'feminine' feel I love wearing my black, corduroy, button up A-line skirt with my double soled Bethan Dr Martens for a more grunge or gothic look.

All in all, Dr Martens are an amazing staple piece to anyones wardrobe.

Happy New Year !!

So to kick start the new year of 2016 I want to share with you a small new years resolution of mine, and that is to keep you guys up to date with as much as I can regarding fashion, makeup, styles and anything else you want me to write about! remember to leave comments!!...

So to start off I went with a classic grunge/rock look by mixing leather with stripes! I'm wearing a very (not) varied outfit consisting of clothes from H&M and Newlook, would you be able to tell they're probably my favourite shops! So anyway, I'm wearing a waterfall (faux) leather jacket from Newlook which I LOVE as it's quite edgy but can also be worn with a smarter looking outfit. I matched this with a black and white striped t-shirt from Newlook also, I love t-shirts like this at the moment as I believe they can be worn in a number of different ways! extremely versatile!

Next I opted for a pair of leggings I recently purchased from H&M. They are a mix of cotton and (faux) leather, The small patches of leather really accent the leggings and again make them look edgy but could also be worn with smarter attire.

To company the small patches of leather I chose to wear my black chelsea boots, bought from Newlook but you can just about buy these type of shoes from all kinds of places! I love chelsea boots because they're not going to be a hassle like some over the knee boots can be and as there is next to no heel on them, you wont have sore feet if you go out for the night!

Just as a small accessory I am wearing this adorable choker which was given to me by Hazy River, they make the cutest chokers and tote bags! I love this choker as it can add a small piece of emphasis to any casual outfit!
